What is the greenlight hub in Uber? ›

Uber offers in-person support and signup help in many cities across the world at Uber Greenlight Hubs. Your leads will need to visit a Greenlight Hub to get their profile picture taken and activate their account.

The approval typically takes 2 hours. Once approved, your photo updates on both your rider and driver accounts.

To ensure we can prevent overcrowding and support you safely, please don't visit the Greenlight Hub without booking an appointment. Note: Appointments are limited for the specific issue types set out in the "Book an in-person appointment" section and are not available for Uber Eats.

In most places, when you take this photo in the app, it is sent to us and shared with Microsoft, our service provider. Microsoft, operating under our instructions, then uses facial verification software to compare this photo with the profile photo you previously uploaded.

To protect everyone using the platform, your profile photo can only be uploaded if your appearance has changed making you unrecognizable, such as: Significant weight changes. Facial deformation. Medical conditions.

Show your full face and the top of your shoulders. Make sure the photo is well-lit. Avoid blurriness. Include only yourself in the photo—no one else should be in the frame.
